Contests are held on the regional and state level each spring, which allow the eighth grade students to prove their skills. The winners of the state contests may compete on the national level during the summer.
At Short Pump Middle School, the club serves these goals and also offers an opportunity for the students to meet to enjoy using their favorite computer programs. All students (Grades 6, 7, 8) at SPMS are invited to join the club. Because the club is affiliated with the national and state organizations, there is a $5 membership fee.
